3-Day Quote Challenge, #3

Okay, so here goes day 3 of the 3-Day Quote Challenge I was nominated for by two great members of our blogging family. Please support them and go read some of the inspiring posts by:

Stu at https://stubaby777.wordpress.com and

Stefan at https://thefourthdimensionoflife.wordpress.com.

Thanks, guys, for honoring me by nominating me for this challenge!

The rules are as follows:

Thank the person who nominated you.
Post a quote for 3 days, and explain why it appeals to you.
Nominate bloggers each day!

Once again, I’ve chosen some Rick Warren quotes (no, I can’t just narrow it down to one!😉), but instead of being society-focused, these ones are more personal. There’s so many hurting people out there (as I touched on in Day #2), but as God’s Word says,

“We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Romans 8:28 (CEB)

I’m so thankful to know there’s a lot of bloggers out there, Stu and Cynthia being just two examples, that have turned their past mistakes and hurts into ministries to help people going through similar things.

There’s a great quote that says:

So, based on those truths, here’s a few more quotes for today:

Great scriptures to remember when we’re going through a tough time, are tempted, or suffer the consequences from making bad decisions in life, are:

“¹³Don’t blame God when you are tempted! God cannot be tempted by evil, and he doesn’t use evil to tempt others. ¹⁴We are tempted by our own desires that drag us off and trap us.”
James 1:13-14 (CEB)

“He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share this same comfort with others in trouble.”
2 Corinthians 1:4 CEV

Knowing that the bad things that happen to us are not God’s fault, but that He does allow them and other trials for our growth and so we can learn to comfort others, these quotes are good to keep in mind:

  1. Stuart is one inspiring brother that I’ve been so blessed to encounter in this community. And now I think it’s getting bigger discovering your blog too, Mia. Everyday gets better with a newfound God-friend. Bless your heart for these quotes.

I believe God wants to us all our pain to comfort those who at the moment might feel far from him. If only we will never allow shame get the best of us, our light will burn brighter in this hurting world.

    1. Amen, Alethea and thank you! I feel blessed whenever I find another believer’s blog, too, and as high a regard as Stu seemed to have for you, I knew I must be missing out on something good. So glad Stu introduced us!
I believe you’re right about us being able to comfort others who are going through similar things we have, and that our shame holds us back from that mission. I’m still battling mine 😉. I’m sure it’s time I gave it to the Lord so He can take up the fight for me and I can be free, but alas, as heavy as the sword is and as tired as I am, I’m still flailing and, it seems, letting it get the best of me. I hope you’ve already won that battle!

      1. Oh Mia, the battle goes round and one way or the other each of us hold tightly to the things that have somehow defined us in a way, finding it hard to let go. We’re in the same boat, and I think I’m in good company. Just for the fact that we know God is able to take it all away is a step in the right direction. So here’s to sisterhood in trusting the Lord that one day, His yoke would be the only one we’ll be carrying 😘😘😘😘

  2. Rick Warren’s devotionals, and many of the quotes you shared today, were instrumental in the first year of my healing and recovery. And then one day I read 2 Corinthians 1:4 and the shift really occurred in my heart that what I had experienced and was experiencing was no longer just about me. Your support and affirmation of my ministry (thank you for calling it that!), and being drawn back to the time that some of these quotes deeply affected me, is making me a little teary with gratitude and awe at where I was and where I am now. God’s ways are sometimes mysterious to me, but always marvelous!

  3. What powerful quotes! And they all so apply to my life. For God did use my greatest pain for His purpose and answered my prayers by changing my character 🙂

I, for one, feel the quotes should be an ongoing thing. Very inspiring Mia!

Thank you for your support and prayers!
